How I Spent My Curfew Vacation
It was a very sad period for the whole
world because COVID – 19 or Corona Virus spread all over the world. It badly affected
our small country, Sri Lanka as well. So, our government decided to give a
vacation for all the people in our country. Schools were closed on 13th
March, 2020. Therefore, we had to stay at home with our parents. It was a very
good interval for all of us as we were tired. We worked for all days and nights.
Students went to schools and tuition classes for their studies. And our parents
went for their jobs. So, this time was given to us by nature to stay at home to
be relaxed.
We woke up early in the morning and
went to our garden. My mother and my grandmother grew more vegetables, flowers
and some fruits. My father and I helped them. But, my brother didn’t help us.
He watched films all the day. My parents advised him to come outside and help us.
But, he ignored their advice. And, in all afternoons, I concentrated my
attention on my studies. I visited the websites like “e - thaksalawa, edu
lanka, scoolnet” to improve my knowledge. And I learnt Spanish language too.
Furthermore, I downloaded new English movies and songs and some past papers.
Actually, I was very happy. I knew it was not a period to be happy. According
to the news reports, during one day, 2000 people died in the U.S.A. It was a
bad news. It is reported that so far 07 people died in Sri Lanka.
Further more than 109,664 people were
died in whole world. Actually that vacation was good. It gave us a family time.
It was very sad time. I was afraid to watch news. And my family was too. But
our government arranged curfew, because people were stay at home. It was a
benefaction for control COVID - 19. So I wish COVID – 19 pandemic will be exit
in our beautiful, happily world.
